I
look in the bathroom mirror and see a face others do not see
I
know the why of the lines and scars
There is
someone I would die for
One
who knows what it means
There
are people who would die for me
And
I am not sure their reasons
I
know that love means permanent to me
And
love for many others is fair-weather and whether
Hatred
I see is for what is wrong and not you or me
And
anyone else it claims to be
The
smile I see is of understanding and not spite
A
right of rite to stay an unwavering course
As
I think to give my concerns in prayer
I
go to sleep at night on watch to guard our hearts
Someone
means the world to another who the world means more
Unique
and interesting things and ways that blind the hearts
Special
times and places amid forgotten cares and faces
Temper
lost wishes and cast aside desires
Far
away or near there is a lonely life hidden
Away
from my awareness
That
someone somewhere is either misunderstanding or ignoring
Mistakes
and tragedies remain un-needed detours
That
take us aside from our way and purpose
Nothing
good comes from it
Or
good would require evil to be
And
that wouldn’t make good, good at all
Love
and togetherness and the working out of trials and tribulations
Is
a way of overcoming a world bound to turn its back on everyone
Rude
remarks and antagonism are a reason to pray for the ignorant
Those who
oppose themselves by exploiting others
The misinformed
and confused
Must never be
forgotten
